JAMØ’S “LIKE THAT” CHARTS ON BEATPORT IN ITS FIRST WEEK
Only one week after its release, JAMØ’s “like that” has landed on Beatport’s Pop chart.
The extended mix reached #73 on the chart, giving JAMØ early validation as he continues moving into a new sound he calls space house.
“It feels like good validation that it’s charting during its first week,” JAMØ says. “I’ve just been focusing on making stuff that I find exciting, showing what I can do creatively and finding these old rave records to take inspiration from.”
The chart placement, recorded by Songstats on September 9, arrives at an important point in JAMØ’s evolution. Following the global response to “Atmosphere”, “Like That” pushes further into the darker, tougher side of JAMØ’s music.
For JAMØ, that direction feels like a rebellion against his previous sound without abandoning what made the music his in the first place.
“This new sound feels like it’s rebelling against my old sound while still staying true to my roots,” he says. “There’s a happy side to my music, and then there’s this dark and tough side. It isn’t negative. It’s just confident and quiet.”
That balance sits at the center of space house. The music can still feel playful and bring people together, but it now carries more weight, restraint and attitude. Instead of chasing a familiar version of house music, JAMØ has been digging through older rave records and translating their energy through his own production.
The Beatport chart placement suggests that listeners are beginning to connect with that change.
The next piece of the release arrives today with the official “like that” music video.
Created with his friends the video takes the record into the streets of North Hollywood. JAMØ developed the idea and edited the finished video himself, capturing the group spray-painting the JAMØ symbol and “LIKE THAT” as graffiti artwork on location.
The shoot eventually brought them to Circus Liquor, the Los Angeles landmark recognized by its towering 32-foot neon clown.
The location was not part of some perfectly mapped-out production. After struggling to get a gas-station shot right, Blandon suggested they stop overthinking it and move to the famous liquor store instead.
That spontaneous decision became part of the video’s identity. It feels less like a manufactured campaign and more like a night out with the people who are actually part of JAMØ’s life.
There is also something hidden inside the video.
JAMØ is not revealing what it is yet. Viewers will have to look closer.
“like that” reaching the Beatport chart is an early win for the new sound. The video released today shows the attitude, friendships and world growing around it.
Space house is beginning to leave a mark.
